Looking good is an expensive business these days. Consider for a second how many beauty products and toiletries you buy from your chain chemists store every month, chances are if you are serious about looking and feeling good 24/7 your expenditure may total several hundred pounds. On top of the everyday commodities like soap, shaving gel, baby oil and deodorant, beauty boffs will regularly purchase skin care products such as moisturizers, exfoliators, premium perfumes and bath-time goodies as well as a whole range of make up.

Aside from the astronomical costs, the time and effort that needs to be spent applying, washing off and reapplying these products means a huge chunk taken out your leisure time! I’m not one to start preaching the gospal to you about beauty not being skin deep, I’m as guilty of unashamed vanity as the next woman, let’s face it, everyone wants to look good, either for your own ego boost or to attract the opposite sex, but there must be an easier way.

I recently began investing in regular spa days, while these are often seen as gifts or one off special occasions, recently I’ve been using them on a semi-regular basis as an alternative to spending half my monthly wages in Boots! When totaled up a bi-monthly trip to a good spa can actually work out cheaper than buying the equivalent home treatments, As an added bonus you can also treat yourself to a massage which will provide unseen benefits and reduce stress.

I am by no means suggesting for one minute that you give up your regular beauty routine, a bit of self pampering is essential for maintaining healthy skin hair and teeth, but rather than buying exotic pots of green slime which claim to be extracted from geysers in Paraguay, visit a good spa once every few weeks. You can partake in a wide range of services and return home feeling truly refreshed.
